Free Directory Pages |
|
| How come its free? Can anyone have a page? What should I do if I see obscene content on a page? My page was suspended - what do I do now? |
How come its free? TopSA is relying on advertising revenue to cover the cost of development and produce revenue for marketing the website. It sounds like a cliche but its a win win situation. We need traffic to fulfill our hosting packages advertising obligations and so we have to market TopSA. When we market TopSA we are in effect marketing the entire directory and that includes your directory page. Can anyone have a page? As long as you are over 18 years of age and run a business in Botswana, Mocambique, Lesotho, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia or Zimbabwe then you may create a directory page. What should I do if I see obscene content on a page? We have just started our trial run and appeal to Directory account holders to not put obscene or objectionable material on their pages. In fact it is part of our terms and conditions. However we don't subject pages to a review process before allowing the profile pages to go live. This means that if people abuse this then objectionable content may appear in the directory. On all pages there is a graphic and link that will report the offender. Depending on the severity of the case we will ban that user from using TopSA and delete his page. My page was suspended - what do I do now? If your page is suspended you will receive an email from TopSA admin stating the changes you must make before your page will be reinstated. Your changes will be subject to review before being allowed back in the Directory. Further abuses by the same individual will lead to immediate deletion of the account and a banning of the user. |

| How do I prepare and add images to my page? I get an error message when I try and upload my images |
How do I prepare and add images to my page? Our system offers auto sizing and auto optimisation so that your image fits our page template. It will be easier if you check our image size requirements and prepare your images to fit within the dimensions provided - but its not imperative. Ideally use JPEG format at approximately 70 -80% quality for photographs and use GIF format for flat colours such as logos and graphics. I get an error message when I try and upload my images It may be the case that the physical dimensions of your image is too big for our software to manage. We have found that a maximum original file size of 1800 pixels in width at a resolution of 72dpi is the maximaum image size we can manage. As it takes time to upload a larger image it makes sense to do some preparation work before uploading the files. |
